Doon Boys Paying Guest House offers PG Accommodation / Paying Guest Facility only for Students / Intern boys of age group around 15-30 years in Khurbura, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India on individual / sharing basis. Common / Attached Toilet / Bathroom, Availability of Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner / Parking. Homely Environment. 700 meter from Bindal Bridge, Chakrata Road. Non-PG option is also available. Address 167/C, Khurbura, Near SGRR Public School, Dehradun-248001, Uttarakhand, India.

We were opened in 2008 and ever since we are constantly improving our facilities and level of services. We offer single and twin sharing rooms with and without food options. Normally for a twin sharing room, we charge Rs.5,500/- per head per month which includes breakfast and dinner and Rs.3,500/- per head per month without food but it can vary either way depending upon the type of facilities chosen by the paying guest. The monthly charge for twin sharing room on single occupancy basis is Rs.7,000/- without food. The separate monthly charge of Breakfast is Rs.750/- per month and Dinner is Rs.1,250/- per month. Electricity charges are to be paid as per meter or as agreed at the time of booking. House tax, water and sewer charges are included in lump-sum charges. We allow use of Induction Cooker, Iron, Heating Rod, Laptop, Dryer, Shaver, Heater, Cooler and other required electrical gadgets as carried by the PGs. The rental charge on daily basis is Rs.500/- per head for shared occupancy including two times food and Rs.400/- per head per day without food for short stay duration. The daily rental charge for single room occupancy is Rs.750/- per day including two times food and Rs.650/- per head per day without food for short stay duration. We have 07 rooms, 12 beds and 03 bath cum English / Indian toilets for paying guests. In three twin sharing rooms, we have wash basin with water connection to avoid load on common bathroom. All toilets also have separate wash basins, shower, toiletries stand, bucket, mug, wiper, brush etc. We have space on the terrace for washing and drying cloths.

A security deposit amount of Rs.500/- is to be paid by all PGs at the time of start of their booking. All PGs whether during their stay or while vacating the premises need to follow these general rules i.e.: they need to hand over the keys during check-out, clear the electricity bill dues during check-out, handover the clean the room to its original condition during check-out and avoid damaging anything in the guest house during their stay. When PGs comply to all the same rules during their stay and till their check-out then their same security deposit amount will be refunded at the time of checkout and in case of their failure to comply any of the same guidelines then, the same security amount will be adjusted in full towards paying guest house's expenses of the same.

 

The PG's environment is clean, peaceful and ideal for students or intern boys. Caste no bar. We welcome people of all religions. The people from many states of India and abroad had stayed and are presently staying at our place. Most of them are students who are preparing for competition exams like NDA, SSB, SSC, Language & Professional Courses from reputed institutes like Doon Defence Academy, Ground Zero, IELTS, Doon Paramedical College etc. Some of them are interns.

The food and place is homely. The breakfast generally includes two big parathas (extra paratha is available @Rs.250/- per month) / poori with mixed combinations of tea / rusk / curd / pickle / butter / fried aloo / Mix-Veg. / poha / sandwich / noodles etc which varies from time to time. The breakfast timing is generally between 8.00 A.M. to 8.30 A.M. The lunch and dinner generally includes four roti (with rice) / five roti (without rice) (extra phulka / chapati / roti is available @Rs.125/- per month and extra cooked vegetable / sabji bowl is available for Rs.20/-) with mixed combinations of various daal / aloo / mattar / paneer / various mix-veg / saag / choley / rajma / baigan ka bharta / soyabean nuggets / curd / raita / rice / pulao / kadi chawal / khichdi / achaar / chatni / salad / fruit and occasional sweet dishes like laddu / barfi / halwa / pastry / ice-cream etc. The daily menu, number of dishes and quantity of food is chosen by us and varies from time to time. The dinner timing is generally between 8.00 P.M. to 8.30 P.M. The food and water is served on self service basis. We provide high quality vegetarian organic food to PGs which we eat ourselves.

We provide clean rooms with dustbins to PGs on their arrival and they are required to maintain the same during their stay by doing self service. The outside common area cleaning is done by us ourselves during every week. We also arrange for room cleaning from our side sometimes at our discretion and as per cleaner's availability. We generally provide bed, mattress, bed sheet, pillow, table, chair, Almira with locker and hangers / rack, cloth stand / rod, steel glass, spoon, key set to each guest which is to be handed back to us in same condition during checkout. Ours is a no smoking no drinking zone. The water and electricity supplies are regular with backup. We have 8000 Liters in-house water storage facility which is managed by automatic water level controller and two electrical connections from separate sub-stations to cater for backup. We have parking facility available which is free of cost and entirely at vehicle owner's risk. Two-wheeler parking is inside and covered and four-wheeler parking is outside. The economical public transportation to across the city is available from 500 meter walking distance. The common daily amenities are available nearby. The additional paid services are cloth washing, milk at night etc. We also have in-house facility of photocopy, email, internet, scanning and laser printing on paid basis. General Rules & Regulations:

1.  Our's is a no smoking, no drinking, no paan, no gutka, no chewing gum, no gambling, no playing cards, no gaming, no singing & no drugs zone and we expect all PGs to abide the same. If anyone is found breaking the rules then, we would ask him to vacate our premises. We keep duplicate keys of all places and authorised to do random search anytime. We are also authorised to open room for cleaning, maintenance or to show room to new PGs anytime.

2.  We prepare and serve vegetarian food only.

3.  We offer quiet, clean and peaceful environment and expect the same to be maintained by PGs.

4.  If the PGs want to listen any audio on their phone / laptop then they need to use their headphones or earphones.

5.  The night time after 11.00 PM are quite hours and no noises are to be made after that time.

6.  The doors generally close at 9.00 PM. If any PGs are coming late occasionally then, they need to inform us in prior.

7.  We are always open to offer stay and food, as agreed at the time of booking. However if any PGs cancels their booking, leaving or vacating early in between the month for any personal reasons, who are staying either on daily or monthly basis then, the amount paid for rent and food is neither refundable nor adjustable.

8.  Food & water is served on self service basis only.

9.  If any PGs are coming late for food or do not want to take food on any day for any personal reasons then they need to inform us in prior.

10. We expect the full monthly payment to be made in advance and ontime installments thereafter. Full payment need to be cleared maximum within 24-48 hours after receiving the monthly bill by respective PGs. If the PGs feel that they are unable to make future monthly installments ontime then, we advise them to deposit one month extra payment in advance as security deposit at the time of booking which can cater for any delayed payment and would be adjustable / refundable without any interest at the end.

11. We offer all things in new working condition and expect the same to be handed over by PGs in same condition during check-out.

12. Any damage to the PG property by the PGs is to be borne by them.

13. We offer clean environment and expect the same to be maintained by the PGs. The rooms are provided in clean condition to the PGs at the time of arrival and they are expected to keep the same in clean condition during their stay uptill their check-out via self service. We provide all the material required to keep the room clean. The outside common area cleaning is done by us every week. We also arrange for room cleaning from our side sometimes at our discretion and as per cleaner's availability.

14. Electricity charges are to be paid as per meter after equal division or lumpsum as agreed.

15. If the PGs staying on monthly basis need to stay some extra days after expiry of monthly period then, they need to pay its amount in advance along with previous month rent or else the full month rent amount is to be payable which will be neither refundable nor adjustable irrespective of number of staying days or the extra days rent will be charged on common daily basis rent of Rs.500/- per day for sharing basis and Rs.750/- per day for single room occupancy. The PGs staying on monthly basis also need to inform about their departure one week in prior so that we can take another booking meantime.

16. The check-out time is 12.00 P.M. noon thereafter another day rent is liable to be charged.  

17. The use of loud, shouting and / or abusing language is prohibited.

18. Utensils are to be returned after cleaning with the water.

19. The PGs are themselves responsible for the security of their belongings and vehicles.

20. The PGs are required to do police verification as per police guidelines, submit their ID copy to us and to show its original in local police station, whenever asked.

21. The relatives, friends and visitors are not allowed to stay or visit in the rooms of PGs during their stay. They can meet them outside or in drawing room for short duration with our permission.

22. The PGs can be relocated to any other room with their consent for better harmony between similar studies students or interns who are living in a sharing room.

23. The PGs are requested to avoid sitting, keeping their personal items and garbage in common area.

24. The PGs are required for not to sit in other student's room and obstruct their study.

General Food Ingredients

Vegetables

We use fresh vegetables for cooking which are daily personally hand picked by us of best quality available in the market.

Milk

The fresh milk comes from nearby dairy daily which is free from chemicals as added in packed milk and it also regularly tested by us via lactometer for its quality. The commonly used milk cost Rs.40/- per kg while the pure fresh daily milk which we use cost us Rs.60/- per kg.We use the same milk for making curd and ghee at home.

Flour

We use world famous MP Atta also known as Sharbati Atta which is grown with organic fertilizers only. It is healthy, soft and good in taste. The commonly used atta costs Rs.23/- per kg while the M.P. organic atta which we use cost us Rs.40/- per kg.

Cooking Oil

We use NatureFresh refined sunflower low fat oil and pure kacchi ghani mustard oil taken from local oil mill for cooking. The commonly used oils cost Rs.100/- to Rs.120/- per litre while the sunflower oil which we use cost us Rs.225/- per litre and pure mustard oil cost us Rs.200/- per litre.


Sugar

We use double refined sulphurless sugar in which chemical are 10 times lesser than normal sugar. The commonly used sugar cost Rs.35/- per kg while the sulphurless sugar which we use cost us Rs.45/- per kg.

Salt

We use natural healthy salt which is unrefined and natural - free of bleaches, chemicals, anti-caking agents and other impurities that you might find in your regular iodised salt. It has over 80 minerals like Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Zinc and naturally occurring traces of Iodine essential for holistic well-being without compromising on taste. The commonly used salt cost Rs.20/- per kg while the natural healthy salt which we use cost us Rs.100/- per kg.

Water

We have eight stages Reverse Osmosis System (R.O.) Water Purifier installed in our kitchen whose water we uses in making all type of foods. It has external Sediment Filter, Internal Sediment Filter, Mineral Cartridge, UV Cartridge, UF Membrane Filter, Carbon Filter, TDS Controller & RO Membrane Filter  which helps in providing fresh and hygienic water. 

Rice

We use Golden Grain Premium Basmati Rice which is refined via Japanese machines due to which it is free from impurities, good in taste and healthy. The commonly used rice cost Rs.35/- per kg while the basmati rice which we use cost us Rs.100/- per kg. We also cook original Dehradun Grown Basmati Rice sometimes which costs us @Rs.140/- per Kg.

Butter and Ghee

We use Amul pasteurised butter and home made ghee. The commonly used butter cost Rs.15/- per 100 grams while the Amul butter which we use cost us Rs.50/- per 100 grams.

Tea

We use different high quality tea brands like Tata Premium, Wagh Bakri, Dehradun Premium Tea, Assam Tea, Darjeeling Black Tea etc. The commonly used tea cost Rs.50/- per 250 grams while the teas which we use cost us approx Rs.125/- per 250 grams.

Potato

We use Tumri or pahari aloo / hill potato which are organic and nutritious. The commonly used plain area potatos cost Rs.15/- per KG while the hill potatoes which we use cost us Rs.50/- per KG.

Hing

We use pure Hing or Asafoetida as taken from plants which is good for health. The commonly used hing cost Rs.20/- per 10 grams while the pure hing which we use cost us Rs.300/- per 10 grams. The commonly used hing is made by mixing wheat floor, edible oils etc but the pure hing is served in original crystal form as taken from the plants.

1. Laundry Service (Your cloths can be picked and delivered at your doorstep after washing and ironing).

2. Doctor can come at your doorstep. We also keep general purpose medicines and first aid kit in house for emergency use.

4. Autoriksha / Cab can be arranged. 

5. Couriers can be collected from your doorstep. 

6. Milk at night is available on Rs.30/- per day basis. 

7. Bisleri mineral water is available from nearby wholesaler @Rs.3.5/- per litre.
